I checked into this depression forum to see what others were talking about and to offer advice, since I beat depression a long time ago.
Instead of replying to specific threads, where my advice will just get buried by other posts/threads, I've decided to give my advice to you all on this thread, and maybe someday it will be pinned to the top of the forum.
A lot of things can cause depression, but if you ARE NOT going through severe hardship or the loss of a loved one, you are probably just dealing with some bio-chemical imbalanced that can be fixed very easily.
Here's what you need:
Bananas. Enough bananas to make a large, meal replacing smoothie.
Vitamin D pills.
(optional) Pure cocoa powder.
That stuff is the best.
You are going to make a meal replacement banana smoothie.
Put the bananas in the blender. Since banana vary in size, as well as blenders, the amount of bananas should be enough to fill you up as a meal. So no measuring, just make enough to fill yourself and replace a normal meal.
Before you blend it, add water. Make sure the level of water in the blender fills about 3/4 of the blender with the bananas in it. The water will help keep the bananas from oxidizing (for taste) and help your body absorb the nutrients.
If you like chocolate, add cocoa powder to taste. The cocoa will also help in getting rid of the depression.
Mix in in the blender until everything is homogenized.
Some people like to pulse the action of the blender, as this helps to keep more oxygen out, so the smoothie tastes even sweeter.
----
Enjoy your depression annihilating smoothie, with some vitamin D on the side. I take about 5000 IUs -- that's 5 1000IU pills.
This is backed by science:

Let me know how it works out for you guys.
