I understand this question is very subjective but i'm someone who's goal is to have a lean/athletic build but built enough to turn heads; something like Zuberi's physique or Max Chewning (for all you fitness youtubers). Before I started lfting I was very scrawny but never necessarily ripped. I've been slow "bulking" for the past two years- and i use that term loosely because not everyday have I been in a consistent surplus which has led to me stall many times in the gym. But as my body fat percentage is getting higher I feel like the more weight I put on the worse I look, esp. around the midsection. Slow muscle gain wouldn't bother me if I was very lean but since i'm not that lean, I feel that i'm just extending my feeling of discomfort. I'm thinking of doing a mini cut these next several weeks to hopefully up my insulin sensitivity and then lean bulk from there but I don't want to look like I don't even lift if I cut too soon lol. I'm 6'1 194 lb. My current lifts in lb:
Bench 200x5
Squat 285x5
Overhead Press: 135x5
trap bar deadlift: 360x5
Chin ups: 6 or 7
My question to you guys: Should I just suck it up and extend the bulk for a few more months before I cut or lean out now and then slowly build?
