I know that soy protein is one of the most controversial topics in the bodybuilding/fitness communities. Even in the scientific scene, I have found a lot of contradictory studies about it.
For those who dont know, texturized soy is like a meat replacement with a insane content of protein.
For 100g these are the macros: kcals 340, protein 52g, fat 1.2g, carbos 31g.
When I first found it, my first tought was "why isnt everybody who lift weights eating this?". Mostly because high protein foods usually are expensive, and here in Argentina, 1kg (2.2 lb) costs 35$ (2.3 dollars), which is pretty much like free food lol.
My experience with it has been very good for the last 4 months, eating around 4-5 kg each month. Without getting any of the "bad effects" of the soy that are largely talked in most of bodybuilding forums, never got bloated, not low mood or fat gain, actually I been using it to cut with very good results.
I dont think that it is a real replacement for meat, thats why I eat a lot of chicken, but I feel that the "strongen effects" of soy protein are a broscience myth created because the confusion of phytoestrogens( what soy protein contains) with estrogens.
Comming back to the main topic, I wanted to know if some of you have tried it and what was your experience, just for curiosity.
