So last time I was on here was 2014. I tried the AA program, got discouraged very early, and gave up. Since then I've been going on online dates, I've had some success purely from meeting women online (7-8 sexual partners in about 1.5 years). My plan is to get back into AA program, but I've got lots of anxiety around strangers and will start seeing a therapist soon to bring down some of the nervousness.
Anyway, after a dry spell i'm back on Tinder and OKC. Got new pics from a photog friend, been going to the gym regularly for 10 months, I'm in the best shape of my life. I'm 32, have my own apt in LA by the beach, and I'm getting a lot of matches (sample photos attached, would appreciate any feedback). I've got pretty good at messaging, getting phone numbers, calling, setting up meetups, etc.
My problem lately: I've gone on 6 first dates in the past month, all with fairly attractive girls (6 or 7s). None of the dates are leading anywhere, they flake, don't respond to my texts or they tell me I'm more of a friend type. I've still got some nice guy syndrome, I know I'm not super aggressive yet, but I do make a point to touch and compliment and hold hands. I feel like when they see me in person, they're disappointed and they just want to get the whole thing over with. My photos are good, but they are true to life. Any thoughts what might be going on? What kind of conversion rates (second meetup at least) should I be expecting from online dating?
