Before everything else, I have to say that this is an amazing community and I really appreciate Chris' and everyone's effort to put together such a wealth of information, it is really helping me improve at a speed of light. Can't wait to try the AA program.
Now, moving to the problem. I have never styled my hair or cared about my face appearance at all, but from GLL I understood that it is important.
I have been trying for 4 days already to style the hair. I believe main problem is that it's short, correct me if I'm wrong.
The cut I got on the sides is making hair look really good from side, but from front I am really not sure what to do.
So far there are only 2 ways I have found.
1st is a more spiky style.
Front:

From side you can see looks awesome, but I'm not too convinced when it comes to front.
2nd is just messy style, which is basically the same but not so spiky.

I don't like because it looks exactly messy from front

And gives this gay hairline:

So guys could you please tell me if any of these 2 is good, or any other variant that you think would be good?

Also if you are wondering, yes I went to hair saloons 2 times, and asked them for help. They usually just put wax and leave it as in the 2nd, messy style variant.
