What is the best way to get internet while traveling? - by: dc7

I'll be going to Germany for 3 and a half weeks mid May and it will be essential for me to have internet access while I'm there to stay on top of my business/emails.

Some of the places I'm staying I know will have WiFi, but some won't.

I was hoping someone who is more traveled than me (I've literally never traveled) could provide some insight on the best option for having constant internet access while traveling internationally.
