Hey Chris,
Something weird happened to me today and I wanted to get your feedback on it.
I approached this Latina chick at Wal-Mart tonight around 8:30 pm. I see her, psych myself up for 2-3 minutes, then do it. I walk up, smile, and say "Hey, I'm John. I just thought you were cute and wanted to say hi."
The woman looks at me like I'm trying to murder her, her eyes go wide, and she starts waving her hands at me. At this point, I realize that this is going bad, so I'm just like "Sorry, have a good night" and walk away.
She reports me to security, tells them I approached her and made her feel uncomfortable, and then security comes and tells me to leave and to come back later. The guy was like "Yeah, sometimes things that you and I might think are fine other people get upset about. She didn't say she felt threatened, just uncomfortable. Just leave and come back later."
I'm just confused because I look clean-cut (I've attached a pic of what I looked like tonight), and did Basic Guy Game in a fairly crowded, well-lit store on a weekday evening. It's not like I grabbed her from behind in a dark parking lot.
But since something similar happened to me a few weeks ago at Target (basically, I had AA and couldn't approach this employee, but didn't want to be an pussy and leave, so I ended up creeping on her from a distance for an hour or two, she reported me to security), now I'm paranoid.
With the thing at Target, that was kinda my own fault and I learned my lesson. But with the thing tonight, I really don't know what I could have done any different.
Do you or Scotty have any experience with this? Is this just an occupational hazard, where some girls are just crazy and since I'm the guy I automatically get blamed?
As of right now, I've done probably 50 approaches, and I'd prefer to not get reported every 50 approaches, especially if I start doing like 50 per week.
