Am I having unrealistic expectations about how great social life can be? - by: Lasttrybern

Particularly after college.

I guess sometimes I have daydreams and fantasies about this. I've talked about how in the past I've missed out on so much in terms of social life, girls, and partying (especially in college).

Well, I am putting forth a plan right now to earn my independence (currently living with parents after graduation) and sometimes I like to idealize my future. A while back I watched a movie called "The Interview" with James Franco and Seth Rogen. At one point early in the movie, James Franco talks about his dick stinking because of a party him and Seth Rogen threw the night before. I idealize situations like that (minus the stinky dick) where I have a couple of friends together, we throw a party, tons of cute girls show up, and we have a great night.

I idealize situations of having a large social circle full of some chill guys and some hot girls. Basically, the top 20% life in college out in the real world.

Yet wherever I look or read, it is depressing. So many people talking about how life after college is so lonely, making friends is impossible, and how everyone gets married and no longer wants to make new friends or be social.

I worry if I am chasing something that doesn't exist.

Any experience with this older guys?
